PEGGY BEKENY ART

A life long Connecticut resident.   Born with a natural desire to create, she began sketching fashion and portraits during her childhood.  First inspired by the impressionists, Peggy's real passion is in the abstract painting.  The process is both intuitive and analytical in making an image on paper, canvas, and wood-panel.  "Events and people in my life inspired most of my artwork as muses as well as emotions and feelings.  The interpretation of these concepts are the intuitive process of painting, and the analytical part is the choices of color, design, and shape."  The intuitive process is putting color and marks on the canvas without thinking the analytical process is like putting a puzzle together through shape, color, and design.  Painting in acrylic medium and sometimes collage.  "My art is my passion."  Receiving her bachelor's degree in fine arts.   Her work has shown in The New Britain Museum of Art, and The Mattatuck Museum of Art.
